First ~ Back ~ home~ Next ~ Last
The study he mentions is an interesting one. It suggests that some psuedo-immortals have mortal memory spans. Once they outlive a mortal lifespan, they wear out their ability to create lasting memories. They maybe able to make new "long term" memories, but even those fade out in a matter of years, maybe months. The author likened it to using one page of paper as a diary for a year. Writing over and erasing previous entries damages the paper and makes the new entries difficult to decipher.
On that note, Tully does not keep a very detailed journal. He's tried it in the past, but finds that he spends too much time in a loop of writing and reading to try to remember every little detail. Instead, he keeps records of his purchases, and a book of key information he does not want to forget.
Long lived beings are not uncommon on Dis. Tully doesn't think he's special. He just thinks he's odd, because anytime people find out how old he is, they ask about his experiences through the years. He's embarrassed when all he can do is quote books, or point to items in his collections.
