Luanne

Full Name: Luanne Lynn Fielding-Biqa
Age: 21
Heritage: America (otherwise, unclear)
Occupation: None
Registered abilities: Transformation of self and others (listed as high threat in Elsworth databases)
Unregistered Abilities: n/a

Luanne sends up red flags at Elsworth Registration (see Hanna), since even she isn't exactly sure of her ability's limits. When reshaping a life, her power can disregard conservation of mass and other such rules of standard physics.

Luanne caused more trouble in her home town, a rural east Texas town. Her mom and stepfather quarreled over her constantly, and her birth father left her mother presumably because their daughter kept giving the cows wings and the dogs human vocal cords. Every adult she knew was terrified of her, and was uncertain where her powers came from. There was no reason to believe anyone in her family was a subject of occult science, or that the practice had been used on her. Her mother blamed her birth father, who in turn blamed her mother, for demonblood that has never been proven. Her parents eventually were able to get American authorities to consent to sending their young teenager to Dis.

In Dis, she was adopted by Kazbeel Biqa and Lahash (Lahash has no last name), two full-blooded demons with an interest in raising children. Her new parents were by no means married, and Lahash is not strictly of either gender, but their strange family structure raised her with more love and support than she had known in America. Kazbeel Biqa is especially maternal, while Lahash is supportive but gives Luanne plenty of space. Her parents currently have set her up with the finances to last her into her thirties, or longer if she continues to live modestly. Kazbeel and Lahash have other adopted children, but since they only adopt one child every 30 years or so, none of their other children are very close to Luanne in age.

As a child in America, Luanne was picked on for not fitting in and for the rumored experiments with giving the classroom goldfish lungs. In Dis, she was picked on for her Texan accent and unclear heritage. She met the significantly older Xan while at a school for immigrant children. She has ever since thought of Xan as a best friend and big sister. (see Xan).

Luanne has since blossomed into the attention-loving girl she always was, underneath the criticism and fear of her powers. She lives immaturely and could easily be considered not fully aware of the opinion or feelings of others. She may hurt people in her exploits, but doesn't mean to do harm, especially to Xan.
When Lu is intentionally cruel, she is quite clearly, intentionally cruel.

Overall, she is gleeful, trouble free, and maybe a bit careless. She has had a number of flings, some of which have ended badly. She never told anyone (including Xan) about a particularly sour relationship with a young man named Simon. Simon has since been turned into a cat, mentally and physically. Xan thinks the cat was a stray. Her most recent fling was with her current project, Victor.

She is currently raising a human-wolf pup, and forging a vampire out of a demonkin.

How the Character Came About Luanne started as the powerful but insane mentor to my mage character, Xan. She wasn't a player character (meaning, I created her for the storyteller to play... which probably still doesn't make much sense if you don't know gaming stuff). She was just part of Xan's background. She was violent and irrational, and would ditch Xan without any notice to go off on her own plans. One storyteller made her an infernalist and gave her ram's horns.

The first drawings of her always had her a bit beat up. Bandaids here and there. She was also originally taller than Xan (who is supposed to be on the tall side of average as it is), because I liked the idea of a bean-pole Texan girl. Yeah, she's always been Texan. With one of those horrid twangs. (my fellow Texans will kill me for calling the twang horrid, one of these days)

Luanne was so interesting, I thought of some of the crazy things she would do. Like, turn an ex into a cat. And turn people into vampires and werewolves. This translated into a comic character. In the original comic idea, Luanne and Xan were part of a coven that hated Luanne's practices, but I made them more isolated than that.
