Shadow of a Doubt: Interlude 1

In which the King of Serpents speaks of Dis.

First ~ Back ~ home~ Next ~ Last

The first draft of this was three pages, but the narrator was a vague, undetermined demon. Although, in my head, the narrator sounded female. If the font and bubbles doesn't give you hints, this version is narrated by the King of Serpents.

His font and special caption bubbles (those won't be standard) take up a lot of space. I encourage you to see the art minus his words.

The good ol' K.o.S (as I call him for short) actually wouldn't live in Dis if it wasn't for the whole being-bound-to-a-descendant thing that has him stuck with Hanna. He's a hell-lord. Dis is kinda low-society for him. It's more or less working class. Hell has a very complex hierarchy, and only the mid and lower levels really care about Dis. A big name in Dis is just a brownnoser to higher ups in the true Hell.

Why did the city manifest? Good questions. The citizens don't really know. The biggest theory is that the city is sentient... sorta. Or, it could be that the concentration of demons living like humans just shifted the metaphysical alignment so that they were living on the physical plane, that much closer to humans. More later.

More babbles about this at the LJ, which I encourage you to read, especially for this post (11/25/04)
