Horns are always in style

There's a lot of dysfunctional familes in this comic (Xan's, Hanna's, and kinda Luanne, who was abandoned by blood relatives). Isobel and Drake have the luck of having a family structure that would probably be dysfunctional elsewhere, but on Dis, it's fine and dandy.

Both kids take more after their father than the Lilin pictured, holding Isobel. Well, Isobel isn't even related by blood to the demon. See, their father is married to the demon, but its an open relationship, so he slept around. The "other woman" didn't really want a kid, and the dad was family-minded, so he raised Isobel with Drake. The demon adopted Isobel as if she was her own, and they were a happy family.

Well, the demon wasn't around too much. She was kinda like that relative who visits and spoils you rotten, and is genuinely concerned about you, but disappears a lot.
